Dana Bethune

Dana, smiling and wearing a blue blouseDana brings a host of professional experience and a deeply-held connection to NoVo’s mission and values. As a member of the Administrative team, Dana provides high-level support to the Executive Director and manages special projects as needed. Dana initially began her career in the fashion industry, serving as Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Retail at Sean John, the lifestyle company created by music mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs. Dana later worked as Director of PR and Executive Administrator for Deborah Hughes Inc., an NYC-based boutique public relations and events firm specializing in fashion, art and non-profit.

Throughout her eight-year tenure at the firm, Dana worked closely with various clients including non-profits Voss (Water) Foundation, fashion designer Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation, Solving Kids’ Cancer and ACRIA as well as a host of fashion brands including Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Collection, Etienne Aigner and Swimwear collections by Michael Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs and DKNY.

Dana’s interest in social justice and uplifting the lived experiences of those most marginalized resonates wholly within her work at NoVo and she continues to be inspired by the Foundation’s long-term commitment to supporting marginalized communities, particularly girls and women of color.

Dana holds a B.B.A. from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in Atlanta. She lives with her daughter, husband and new dog in Brooklyn, New York.
