International Rescue Committee

The IRC is a recognized global leader in humanitarian relief, and for more than 70 years, has provided emergency relief, rehabilitation, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression.

The IRC mobilizes quickly, bringing sustained support to regions torn apart by violence and deprivation, and advocates tirelessly on behalf of the displaced, addressing the root causes of violence and standing up for the world’s most vulnerable populations.

Displayed in this gallery are two of its groundbreaking projects in West Africa: Legacy Initiative, which is rebuilding educational systems to ensure peace and stability in the region, and Women and Girls Rebuilding Nations, which focuses on empowering women and girls to contribute to and access the benefits of reconstruction and peace, free from sexual and physical violence.

Committed to restoring dignity and self-reliance, the IRC is a global symbol of hope and renewal.
